Be Magical !

Magic. The word itself conjures up fantastical images when falls in ears. I don’t know about you, but few images do flash in my head whenever I hear this word - A mighty dragon spewing fire, turning tall towers to ashes. A long bearded wizard, draped in long robes, wielding natural elements to his wish. Or a spell whose incantation with proper cadence can burst a shock-wave, tripling the entire advancing troops. Or, an orb with blooming light that can channel the cosmic energy.

But, is magic really just fictional? 

Some says it is just an exaggerated children’s fantasy. Some waves away the question, saying it only exits in leaves of books. Philosophers are convinced that it is a result of people’s ignorance. While other believes it is an art, forgotten in lost scrolls, buried somewhere deep in ancient runes.

Varied people, varied opinions. But, the question still remains unrequited. Does magic exist?

It does. And it is within you!

Allow me to puff away your doubts.

Each one of us is born with abundant powers. Powers to startle the world, powers to prove ourselves. You must be thinking I am just jabbering nonsense, but believe me, you do have these powers. All you need is to discover them. And once you discover them, and start believing in them, then comes the moment of realization. The moment when you experience the true magic of these powers.

Powers? Magic? Still it sounds childish, right?

You may be familiar with these powers with different names. Skills. Talents. Well, there’s a thin line between ‘skill’ and ‘talent’. Skill is something that demands lots of labor, while talent is something you are already good at. But, the trickiest part is to discover them, and most of the people fail to find it. The secret to discover them is – TRY NEW THINGS! More you attempt, more you comprehend yourself.

So what’s next after discovering these ‘powers’?

Like in most of the magical-system, to thrive and channel these powers, a medium is essential. For instance, in elemental magic, only spells won’t work. You should be near one of the natural elements – Fire, Water, Earth or Wind – to wield it.

Same concept applies in real life too. Your skills won’t proliferate without the influence of your passion. But, mere passion won’t work. Your talent is worthless if it is not exposed to the world. And for that, there comes a need for the medium or opportunities. Few fortunate are introduced to these prospects via elders, but most of the crowd remains oblivious to it. Gradually, their hope dwindles and they suppress their true powers, subduing their dreams. Don’t be hopeless! From here, you embark your own personal quest. Path is definitely wrought with many perils, because greatness demands sufferings. At first, world will mock at you, they’ll ridicule your belief. Every taunt, every comment you receive will surely deceive you from your path. Your decision decides your destiny. Either head to your path like a valiant warrior or embrace your defeat.  

Believe in your powers and allow its magic to unfold. And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.

If you ask me what magic is, then I would say only this. Magic is not tricks a conjurer hides up in his sleeves, but it is what makes his awed audience smile. Magic is not mere tales of fantastical journeys, but it tells us that even a simple shepherd can overthrow the Dark Lord.
