Starlight Wisdom - A Short Tale [Published in Reflection, January Issue, 2015]
To be born in my clan means to abandon all your dreams. At an age of playing with toys, swords were thrust in our hands. We were beaten to pulp, thrown in the wild; prepared for just for one purpose, to obliterate Rajgadh, stone by stone. It’s been twenty years, twenty bloody years of fight to reclaim what is rightly ours. But the struggle only had cost lives of my dear ones. Our enemy is mighty. We are outnumbered and outmatched. My people have started losing the hope to see their land again and accepted the refuge in the jungle. But I cannot. This wilderness is not our home. I must fight. I must bring peace. But, this war cannot be won by weapons. I need something more powerful than weapons. I need words.

Hotel's Havoc - A Short Thriller

The room reeked with rotting stench.
Shreya pressed the handkerchief against her nose, trying hard not
to grimace. She wanted to go out from that chamber and fill her lungs with
fresh air. She wanted to be away from the dead body that laid on the carpet,
staring blankly at her with his cold eyes. Five years had passed since she
joined Crime Investigation Department, yet the foul smell of the deceased still
churn her stomach.

A Tale of Sorangpur
It
was a night full of shocks and horrors.
Fear
gripped little Hari’s heart as he saw his mother fretfully pounding her fists
on the door of their house. Darkness swallowed everything in their small courtyard
and the cold wind began to tickle his skin. But in the pale light of the
hanging lantern, Hari could make out glistening tears rolling over his mother’s
cheeks.

King's Shadow - A Boy Who Was Banished

iar roused from the
sudden jerk of a pothole, wincing as his head hit hard the cart’s front side.
“Are those pots all right, lad?” the cart driver asked, leaning back worriedly. “Damn those soldiers! They have ruined the whole way!”
Riar threw a quick glance to his companions – the earthen pots clattered like crickets back in response. A shudder like that would have crumbled many of it, but the pots were seemed to be as stubborn as the cart driver. “Yes, your precious pots are all right.”
“Look again. I don’t want to deliver any shards of sand. Believe me, lad, Celberth’s merchants will not pay a coin if they find any of it misshapen.”

King's Shadow - A Threat In The Dark
Throne of Isolgoth can
never be yours, Kelin.
It’s been three years that exchange took place, yet the memory of that
conversation, his father’s words, were fresh like a recent event. No doubt, you are one of the best warriors
of the kingdom, but son, the seat demands wisdom. And, you are not a worthy
suitor.
Lost in thoughts, with fractured pride, Kelin loitered in the long corridor, his hands clasped behind. A pair of patrolling guards halted before him. They bowed in servitude and continued their duty, distracting him for a while. He then realized where he was. Hall of Rest. Alcoves ran both sides of the archway, filled with human sized sculptures of his ancestors, the late kings and queens of Meral Isle. Between each past generation, braziers danced frantically, infusing life to the shadows of the lifeless.

The Final Judgement
The Final Judgement is a first tale of mine that somehow found its way from thoughts to paper and got published in UNCANNY TALES, a curated anthology of top 15 crime thrillers of Notionpress Short Story Competition. Many people have been asking about the book, to read this story, and every time I shook my head, saying I had already given to someone to read. Exclusively for them, I decided to post it over here. Hope you'll enjoy it.

Myth of The Shattered Isles : The Breaking
Before you read this post, let me tell you something about it. Being a high-fantasy fanatic, I always desired to create my own secondary world with its own myths and legends as a base for my stories. The Shattered Isles is a result of such craziness. Highly inspired from the Tolkein's Middle-Earth, I finally managed to scribble the myth, legends and geology of The Shattered Isles. Now, if you wish to continue, then read on...

A Window To Life
A wise man had once preached, your past is a guide of your future. He was correct. Often people prefer to sit in solitude and attempt to revisit their reminiscences. Not to just evoke jovial moments of their past, but to seek the direction for their difficulties from the mistakes they executed in their ignorance. And, they successfully surfaces with a solution along with a satisfactory smile stretched over their faces. The answers are always inscribed in the pages of past. All we need is to turn that particular leaf which encloses the required moral.

The Starving Winds
All my life I thought about one thing
–Myself. You could call me a selfish or an egotistic, and believe me, I was.
Then came a change, a series of incidents that turned me into a dream-chaser, a
sailor, a merchant, a prisoner, a puppet, a fighter and a hope for my family,
whose lives were cursed by nature and tormented by an intoxicated king.
Let’s
begin this tale with the night when I left my home. The reason was simple; I
had my own dreams while my father’s were different. Once at dinner, the debate
for my future broke out. As expected my mother was at his side but I knew she
too didn’t want me to get involve in royal affairs. “Those politicians are
multi-masked people. No one knows what they think. They will smile at you,
greet you and even celebrate with you. But when you turn around, they’ll never
miss a chance to incise a knife in your back,” she always told me. The dispute ended as I left my half-eaten
dinner. I was so annoyed that even the scrumptious cuisine of my mother
flavoured tasteless. I hurried to my room and dropped myself on the bed.
Whether it was my determination or ignorance, I didn’t know, at mid-night I
decided to leave the city.

From The Pages Of HALF SCROLL
1500 YEARS LATER
Everything in universe is vulnerable. Even the Gods.
- 3rd Line, 24th Slab, Library Of Stones
CHAPTER 1
HUNT OF LIFE
“Don’t move,” the chief warned, “your
one mistake may fail us.”
Rakka
was certain that his chief hadn’t heard the cracking sound of a twig he had
just crushed. As always, he was proved wrong but it wasn’t his mistake. He was trembling
as the wintry mist layered a thin film of water over his plump-bare torso. And
to make his condition worse, the night-insects were infuriating him at his
hide-out.

From The Pages Of HALF-SCROLL
PROLOGUE
A NIGHT OF LOSS
Suvasini
had decided. Tears drenched her ivory face as she dashed towards the chasm.
Heartache had over-taken her senses. Her world, devastated. Her grief, beyond
consolation. Her loss couldn’t be reclaimed. Her soon-to-be husband was no
more. Every dream she had woven about their life now lay in tatters.
